Day 12 Art Challenge

Here is a study using the centuries old Russian medium called "sauce".  It is essentially liquified charcoal, graphite or pastel.  I apply my mixture with a cloth and drawing stumps. It makes these beautiful rich darks. Once it's down, it pretty much stays. What I like most about it, is that it creates these deep darks quickly-- it's almost like painting,--- in a drawing!
